Camillo
dell'Antonio is a tenor from Tyrol/Austria. He started singing
at the boys choir "Witener Sängerknaben," where
he was a soprano soloist. He is a qualified doctor of medicine
as well as a professional opera singer. He began his singing
studies at the local conservatory of Innsbruck but finished
them with his teacher Thomas Hemsley at the Guildhall School
of Music and Drama in London, where he earned his postgraduate
diploma.
He is an acting singer with a lyrical voice. In 1991 he has
his opera debut at the Stadttheater Koblenz as Lord Barrat in
the opera The Young Lord by Hans Werner Henze. Engagements
throughout Germany and Austria followed.
Presently, Camillo dell'Antonio is a member of the Grazer Opernhaus
in Austria. His repertoire is manifold and includes roles of
Monteverdi, Rossini, Mozart, Schönberg, and contemporary
composers. His great love, however, is typical Austrian Operetta
and the "Lied."
