Erwin Junger: David song cycle
The David song cycle is based on texts written by the young Israeli poet David Schnapp, who died at an early age. Some of the songs such as My heart cried employ an almost biblical style of writing.The song cycle was written by the composer for the singer Yoram Chaiter, who first performed the cycle in 1993 at Dunia Weizmann conservatoire and has since been a constant part of his repertoire.

the song cycle was written in 1983 and first performed at Beith Ariela in Tel Aviv. The songs are based on texts by Jewish poets from Romania whom the composer knew personally.

Antonin Dvoŕák: Biblical songs op.99
Biblical songs, on the texts from Psalms, were written in 1894, during Dvoŕák's stay in the US. The death of Hans von Bullow, a close friend, and Dvoŕák's own father's grave illness were the background for these compositions. These songs change in expression from despair and supplication to jubilation. The songs were published in 1895 with Czech, German and English texts.
