David DeBolt and the others are teachers at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. DeBolt was Principal Bassoon with the Kansas City Philharmonic for 16 years. Edward Ormond is Assistant Principal Violist of the Cleveland Orchestra and Kent Collier is Principal Cello of the Ohio Chamber Orchestra and the Cleveland Opera.
The CD represents the music by the friends of Edgar Degas and the cover is a copy of his painting "The Orchestra of the Opera", painted in 1870.
