EQUAL TEMPERAMENT PERCUSSION DUO
(Eric & Stacey Jones) is a husband/wife percussion duo
dedicated to the performance and generation of new works for percussion
duo. The duo was founded in 1995 and has commissioned works by several
composers including Erik Santos, Jeffrey Peyton, David Jarvis, and
Thomas Brett. Equal Temperament has performed all over the nation,
and has been featured artists/clinicians at Humboldt State University,
Michigan State University, University of Oregon, James Madison University,
Hillsdale College, Albion College, Lansing Community College, the
Oregon Coast Music Festival, and have been featured in the Greater
Lansing Symphony's Music in our Schools program.
Eric
Jones
Eric has taught percussion and other music courses at Humboldt State
University as well as Lansing Community College and Albion College.
He is currently Artist/Teacher of Music and Director of Percussion
Studies at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. Mr. Jones teaches
percussion/drumset, directs the Hillsdale College Percussion Ensemble
and Pep Band, teaches Music Appreciation, and assists with Jazz
Studies. He regularly performs with the Lansing Symphony, Jackson
Symphony, Oregon Coast Music Festival, and Hillsdale College/Community
Orchestras, and has previously performed with the Grand Rapids Symphony
and Detroit Chamber Winds. Eric also performs regularly with the
Hillsdale College Faculty Jazz Ensemble, and has appeared in numerous
other venues, performing jazz, orchestral pops, funk, rock, and
big band.
Stacey
Jones
Stacy currently performs with several Michigan symphony orchestras,
as well as the Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra and percussion
group. She also teaches percussion and directs percussion ensemble
at Albion College, Spring Arbor University, and Lansing Community
College. As a solo marimbist and chamber musician, she has appeared
as a featured artist and clinician throughout the United States.
In 1998, she was the winner of the Music Teachers National Association
Percussion Competition. She is also a past winner of the Michigan
State University Honors Concerto Competition, and took second place
honors in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Bradlin Concerto Competition.
Stacey Jones is a Marimba One artist.
