In 1993, when Eroica originally released Volumes I and II of Bela Bartok's solo piano works, featuring world class Hungarian-American pianist June de Toth, our primary mission was to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his death. With that mission accomplished, Ms de Toth is now engaged in completing the Bartók cycle. She will be the first woman to record the Bartók solo piano works.. As a result, she received a special invitation from the Hungarian government to perform an all-Bartók recital at the Bartók Memorial House in Budapest, Hungary, on October 15, 1995; as part of a 30-day series of concerts commemorating the 50th anniversary of his death.
June de Toth was the only American musician to be invited to perform in that distinguished, history-making series! She was the Schwann Music catalog Pick of the Year, along with Zubin Mehta and Anne-Sophie Mutter.
These beginnings have launched Eroica on a fast track to our goal of international acceptance and recognition.
