Trio Saxiana

Formed by three young musicians, Anne lecapelain on soprano saxophone, Nicolas Prost on tenor saxophone and pianist Laurent Wagschal, Trio Saxiana finds its place among the most prestigious ensembles of French chamber music featuring the saxophone.

Trio Saxiana and its three brilliant musicians have won first Prize at the Conservatoire National in Paris. They are specialists in the music of nineteenth and twentieth century composers. As winners of many international music competitions, they are invited regularly to participate in prestigious festivals, and have played in more than 600 concerts.


Anne LeCapelain, saxophone

One of the most talented Saxophonist of the younger generation, Anne Lecapelain was awarded First Prize in the CNSM competition in Paris in 2000. She was also the winner of the international competitions in Limoges in 2001, and the City of Paris in 1995.

She has performed chamber music in France, Europe, and Asia, with major emphasis on the impressionistic, neo-classical music of the Twentieth Century.

She has appeared as the feature soloist with the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux, and the Orchestra of the Suisse Romande.


Nicolas Prost, saxophone

Nicholas Prost was born in 1971 in Saint-Vallier, Burgundy, France.

He received his early training at the Paris Conservatory, where he graduated with highest honors.

He went on to win the Yamaha Foundation competition, and appeared as guest soloist with the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux, and the Swiss Romande.

He has performed at the Grand Palais, Salle Cortot, Salle Gaveau, CBC Montreal, and the Concerts Lamoureux., He has appeared as guest soloist with several major symphonies in Mexico, and Germany.


Laurent Wagschal, piano

Laurent Wagschal won two First Prizes at the National Conservatory of France, before beginning a brilliant career as soloist and chamber musician.

He has studied with many of the greats, including Leon Fleisher, Jean-Francois Heisser and Jean-Claude Pennetier.

Laurent Wagschal has performed with the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux, Pasdeloup Orchestre, the Poznan Philharmonic, and the Classical Orchestra of Moscow He has performed as soloist with the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux, Pasdeloup Orchestra, the Orchestre d'Auvergne, the Soloists of Paris, the Poznan Philharmonic, the Classica Orchestra of Moscow, and at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
